- What are Memory Blocks? Memory blocks are 10 x 10 in. quilt blocks that have a photo of the person with their name, year of birth, year of passing, and state on it.
- What will be done with the Memory Blocks? Memory blocks will be sewn together to make a Memorial Quilt which will be used to bring recognition to those who lost the battle to a fatal overdose.
- What is a videography? A videography is a short story of a person’s life captured on video.
- What will be done with the videography? The videography will be shown around the nation to give the opportunity for the stories of those who suffered a fatal overdose to be heard. It will focus on destigmatizing substance use by challenging stereotypes that only a certain race or class of people die from overdoses.
- What will be done in terms of prevention? Purchasing Narcan / Naloxone and distributing these items to individuals and families of individuals who are at risk of overdose.
- What else does We Hear You do for the communities? We Hear You hosts events geared toward overdose prevention and awareness; we collaborate with other organizations providing resources to the communities for treatment options for substance use disorders; we challenge local, state, and federal barriers that exist for people with substance use disorders; and we are working towards letting no voice go unheard in this current substance use / misuse overdose pandemic that is getting worse with the passing of each year – creating a platform to help educate others on the potential risks that any use can end up as a fatal overdose without any notice.
- Are Donations Tax Deductable? Yes. W.H.Y., Inc. is a registered 501 (c) 3 with the IRS and all donations are tax deductable.
- Are services offered to rural areas in the state? Yes, We Hear You, Inc. provides both substance use and co-occurring substance use & mental health outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment to rural areas across the state through a virtual telehealth platform, which takes away the barriers of limited acces, transportation, and "small-town stigma". This means our services can be accessed anywhere as long as the client has a phone or computer with a camera.
- Are face-to-face services offered? - Yes, Face-to-Face services are offered at our Main office in Little Rock. We offer Individual & Group sessions for both Outpatient & Intensive Outpatient Services as well as hybrid classes (blending telehealth and face-to-face sessions for group).
